Welcome to Girl Gang Wednesday.

Since Moda isn't doing a Blockheads Quilt                                                       at this time, I thought I would replace the Blockheads                                                        blogpost with a Girl Gang post instead.  And since it's                                                 still February but not quite Valentines Day there's will a little                                                    time left to make a Valentine quilt.  This is 4 Hearts                                                    a Flower and a Star and both the pattern and the kit                                                                    are 23% off this week. You can go to our store to get either by clicking  here . I'm sure you all remember my good friends Mary and Connie from Country Threads.  Well, I got an email from Mary the other day with her latest post which  included  an awesome idea for an easy recipe for making hamburgers in your crockpot so you can

Happy Moda Blockheads Wednesday on Thursday

And this is why it wasn't up on Wednesday. This is "Glad to Bee Home" or the drawing                      (minus the borders) of one of the 3 quilts I've designed using                                            Deb Strains new line "Honey and Lavender".  I can't show                                           you the fabric yet but you can probably get an idea of the colors                                              from the name.                                     Its February and very cold in Missouri and I haven't minded                                        spending my days at the computer with only short trips to                                         the barn and chicken yard to check on Muffin (the barn cat)                                   and the chickens.  Both chicken houses have warming lights and                                     heated water bowls and Muffin has a space heater in the grain                                      ro

This is the quilt I'm working on right now - "Home for the Holidays" using  Deb Strain's newest fabric line  "At Home for the Holidays." It's snowing here right now and my internet is being freaky so of course I need to download something before I can go any further. I'm telling you all of this because my blog post will have to go online later than usual since I'm downloading at the pace of a snail. Hang in there and I'll post as soon as I can.  :) Well, it took most of the day but everything  got downloaded and then uploaded I got up, made my coffee and fed the outside birds. I always listen to the morning news on Fox while I drink my coffee and I never listen to the news until I've filled my outside bird feeder. We have lots of cardinals and watching  them helps offset and digest the news:) Somewhere in there Jeff comes down and gets a fire started in our woodturning stove  in the firep

I'm working on Home for the Holidays   made out of Deb Strain's new line "Holidays at Home" and I just love it. There's room on the quilt for all of the kids and grandkids (and even pets). With inflation and the economy the way it is, our daughter Kelly has moved back in with us with her cat, dog and a giant rabbit (the rabbit lives in the barn but the dog, cat and Kelly are in the house).  She's a big help to me.  Between my arthritis and Pep's COPD we certainly can use the extra hand so  today she ran errands and I got to design a quilt. On sale this week is the pattern for one of  my favorite all time quilts "Over the River" I don't think we have any kits left but if we do, I'll have Tammy put them on sale too. This post is a day late because I thought it was Tuesday  yesterday and I usually blog on Tuesday/ I'll have this post online around 9:30 so Tammy has time to get everything set. Now, back to getting ready for Christmas. Hav

Happy Blockheads 4 Wednesday

Wow - finally Well, not quite, it still needs to be quilted.        I included all of the blocks and repeated Vanessa Goertzen's Heart block 4 times as the corner blocks. It's an awesome block (as are all of them) I was tempted to make a little 4 block quilt and I still may do that for Summer  (my 3 year old granddaughter) who has  stuffed bunnies that could use their own  quilt. If you want to make this grand finish to Blockheads 4, give me a minute and I'll talk to Tammy and figure out how to  turn it into a pattern. I can't give you the pieced blocks but you should already have them and  I can give you the center block pattern and the layout. Our Vintage book for 1/2 Price this week is Up on the Rooftop and our free pattern is "Olive the Other Reindeer" pillow. The pattern is in the book but if you don't have the book you can                               get the pattern for the pillow by sending a note and a SASE to Tammy. You can go to the store to bu

On sale today to honor the men and women who keep our country safe The 4 Flags pattern. You can go to the store to get your pattern for 15% off by clicking here  . As an aside, Tammy is off today, spending the day at the hospital with her granddaughter who is having surgery and Zoie and I aren't as proficient with the computer.   I we can't figure out how to do it, please come back Monday when Tammy is back and go to the store to get your pattern. I'm much better with quilts that with computers. Jan

I'll print it off this afternoon and take it to the loft and rearrange a few blocks and cut the borders before I start sewing so I should have an update for you next Wednesday.   Meanwhile, the Vintage book for this month is The Primitive Primer and the kit on sale this week is the  Harvest Home Tablestand Kit. You can go to the store to purchase the book and the kit by clicking here Have a good week ladi
